Wednesday, 22 March is World Water Day, a unique opportunity to speed up progress in this area together. With this in mind, the United Nations is holding the 2023 World Water Conference in New York.
The meeting, which will be held on 22 and 23 March, aims to finalise and adopt a Water Action Agenda, a document that will demonstrate the voluntary commitments of countries and stakeholders to meet the world’s water-related goals and targets.
According to Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, this conference “must lead to a bold action agenda on water that gives this vital element of our planet the commitment it deserves”.
