On Friday 30 October, at 12pm, CEMAS will participate in the virtual event “Feeding Change Together”, a conference organised together with DANONE, which will open up a common space for reflection, dialogue and actions aimed at fuelling change towards a fair, healthy and inclusive society.
It will address the highest priority issues on the public agenda on the future of food, as well as community building and the design of cross-cutting solutions driven by leaders and agents of change in different areas. The first meeting focuses on activism and cooperation, with special attention to different learnings and initiatives from the context of COVID-19.
Vicente Domingo, Director of CEMAS, states: “One of FAO’s major concerns is no longer just malnutrition, but also undernutrition. More than 600 million people worldwide are obese. There is a real lack of quality food for various reasons: economic, social, etc. This is something we cannot neglect, because poor nutrition also begins to turn into a dangerous pandemic”.
The event will feature speakers of the stature of José Andrés, chef and founder of World Central Kitchen; Juan Llorca, chef of Valencia Montessori School; Alberto Alemanno, CEO of The Good Lobby and Ashoka fellow; Irene Milleiro, Managing Director of Change.org; Daniel Truran, Director General of B-Lab Europe; Laia Mas, Public Affairs & Sustainability Director of Danone; Marta Chillarón, CEO of Las Naves; Andrés Conde, Executive Director of Save the Children; Beatriz Jacoste, Business Development Manager of KM Zero; Nacho Ballesta, founder of Health Warriors; and Vicente Domingo, Director of CEMAS.
“Along with the need to fight hunger, which no longer occurs only in remote environments but in developing countries and the world’s big cities, it is also necessary to work towards healthy, inclusive and sustainable food. A well-fed society is a healthy society, in the broadest sense of the word. For every euro invested in educating people, in guiding them towards sustainable food systems, a lot of money will be saved in health systems in the years to come. And we, as companies, can also lead changes like this one”, adds Paolo Tafuri, Managing Director of Danone Spain.
We want to promote a fair, healthy and sustainable food system. Join us! Only together can we change this situation. Click here to access the agenda of the event and register. We are waiting for you!
