On Thursday, 3rd November, the Fundació Lluís Alcanyís-Universitat de València (FLA-UV), CEMAS and the Valencia Conference Centre signed an agreement to promote food sustainability by monitoring, dating and diagnosing food waste in the area of the Conference Centre.
The initiative is based on an initial diagnosis that will take into account the way food is purchased, the types of menus, how food is cooked and the services offered, as well as the causes of waste, the impacts that can be avoided if it is reduced, and the social and cultural advantages of preventing it.
To carry out the project, a Working Group for the Reduction of Food Waste was created, which is made up of experts in food and food waste from the research and university environment. They will be in charge of measuring waste and designing an action protocol for more sustainable nutrition at the different events organised at the Conference Centre.
We can’t wait to hear the results!
