The 26th session of the Committee on Forestry (COFO26) will be held from 3-7 October at FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy. This time, COFO26 will be held in a hybrid format and will provide strategic direction for FAO’s future work in forestry.
One of the key themes of the conference will be the analysis of the report entitled “The State of the World’s Forests 2022:Forest pathways for green recovery and building inclusive, resilient and sustainable economies”. A document that is updated every two years and presents an analysis of the interaction between forests and people.
COFO26 will also discuss the outcomes of the XV World Forestry Congress held last May in the Republic of Korea, the FAO Strategic Framework 2022-2031 and the ongoing work of the Forestry Division on forestry solutions to combat climate change.
