On Sunday, 16th October, we celebrated World Food Day with the main objective of promoting healthy eating, food security and taking steps to eradicate hunger by 2030. This year, the slogan chosen by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for 2022 was “Leave no one behind”.
The year 2022 finds us with more than 800 million people suffering from severe malnutrition and another 900 million people suffering from malnutrition associated with obesity and cardiovascular disease. It is time to commit ourselves to better production and consumption, to improve food security, food availability and distribution, as well as to rethink our relationship with the environment.
We need to build a sustainable world where everyone, everywhere, has easy access to sufficient nutritious food. Click here to watch the campaign video.
