On Thursday, 28 April, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs opened the prior public consultation of a draft Royal Decree establishing rules for the development of Articles 40 and 41 of Law 17/2011, of 5 July, on Food Safety and Nutrition, for the promotion of healthy and sustainable food in schools.
The objective of the project, which comes from the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN), is to establish minimum criteria of nutritional quality and sustainability to guide the procurement, acquisition and supply of food and beverages in school canteens, developing the provisions contained in Articles 40 and 41 of Law 17/2011, of 5 July, on Food Safety and Nutrition.
