On Monday 26th October, we will participate in an event to launch the book This is not (only) a cookbook: it is a way to change the world, published by the Instituto Cocina da Amanhâ in association with CEMAS, who worked on the Spanish translation; UNIRIO and the Heinrich Böll Foundation – Brazil.
We are facing a paradigm in crisis and to overcome it, we need to put food on the table and at the centre of the debate. The event, which will be held via Zoom, will be attended by representatives of each of the above-mentioned institutions, in addition to Dr. José Graziano da Silva and representatives of FAO Latin America.
This wonderful book aims to address some of the main challenges in Brazil’s food system. It seeks to acknowledge and highlight the traditional recipes of the Brazilian territory, stressing the importance of taste, food culture and understanding food as a resource that connects us to the world and to who we are. It is not (only) a book on healthy and sustainable food systems, but it is an approach to the reality of food in Brazil.
It also opens many questions, as the pot is heated and the reading moves through 9 chapters offering challenges and solutions, combining science and gastronomy, technical content and culinary tradition. Because food is culture, identity, body and territory. It is revolutionary.
You will soon be able to download the book from this website.
