On Wednesday, 16th November, at the CEMAS headquarters, the 4th Food Conference of the Very Illustrious Official College of Pharmacists of Valencia was held, in collaboration with CEMAS and the City Council of Valencia. The aim of the meeting was to address obesity through healthy and sustainable eating.
The opening was led by Jaime Giner, president of MICOF, who highlighted the role of the pharmacist as a healthcare professional. “When we see obesity data in our society and detect cases of obesity among our users, we do not hesitate to give them recommendations to improve their health through proper nutrition”, the expert pointed out.
In the event moderated by Vicente Bull, member of the MICOF, the renowned dietician-nutritionist Julio Basulto gave a wonderful input by highlighting the contribution of healthy and sustainable food to fight against the scourge of obesity.
The speakers also included Aquilino García, national food spokesperson of the General Council; Joan Quiles, general director of Public Health and Addictions; and Mª Dolores Salas of the Faculty of Pharmacy, UCM.
