On Monday, the Minister of Agriculture, Mireia Mollà, presented the first edition of Organic Week, to be held from 19 to 25 September. This is a new annual event for the agro-ecological sector to promote the sector’s opportunities and boost agro-ecological demand.
The event is organized around seven themes linked to the sector’s objectives in terms of consumption, employment and knowledge transfer. In total there are 26 activities: seven conferences and seminars, 11 workshops and 8 visits where organic producers will be the protagonists.
“Organic Week is a new milestone in the public agenda, within a consolidated commitment to agro-ecological production. The 2021 balance sheet already shows a certified area of 20.5%: 12 points above the European average and only 4.5 points away from the target set by the ‘Farm to Fork’ strategy for 2030,” she stressed.
