On 6th May, the Government of Azerbaijan held the High-Level International Conference “Vision for the Future: Transition to Digital Agriculture” with the support of FAO.
FAO Director-General QU Dongyu assured the attendees of the conference that data, digitisation and innovation are key factors in accelerating this transformation and are at the core of FAO’s actions in all areas of activity.
Azerbaijan is in the process of modernising and digitising the country’s agriculture. It has been a pioneer in this field, through the ambitious electronic agricultural information system (EKTIS), which enables the government to support the agricultural sector in a more transparent, targeted and agile way.
“The challenges facing our agri-food systems require us to take collective, efficient, effective and coherent actions and responses; we must do more and do it together”, concluded Mr. QU.
