On 5 May in Madrid and on 8 May in Ejea de los Caballeros (Zaragoza), the Center for Rural Studies and International Agriculture (CERAI) will screen the documentary “Rebeldía Rural: la luz llega al pueblo”.
Directed by Susan Labich, the film highlights the need for a global change in our food systems and seeks to encourage debate on the current model and stimulate citizen involvement to address change through cooperation.
Rebeldía Rural features the music of La Ronda de Boltaña, the participation of master cheesemaker Emilia Sierra and the author of the Mallata blog, Lucía López Marco, and presents the life of a family from the Highlands of Aragon that changed the sheep production model in their region, reducing the number of animals, selling most of their production directly and reducing dependence on external inputs.
