Did you know that almost one third of all food produced in the world is thrown away? This means that approximately 1.3 billion tons per year are lost or wasted. At the same time, according to the latest data from the FAO report, The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2023, it is estimated that an average of 735 million people suffer from hunger or malnutrition in the world.
In this context, on 3rd October, CEMAS, the City Council of València, EUFIC and the Provincial Council of València will organise the event “Urban public policies against food loss and waste”. It is time to formulate policies that strengthen our food systems!
